Hi! Welcome to the start of my comments on training for a Tri. I have been a jogger, yes, not runner, for many, many years. This is my quest to move beyond that and challege myself to reach new heights. This is my second Team in Training event and I am very psyched to be doing this. I have always dreamed (wished) about doing a Tri and this is the perfect motivation to show that I have what it takes. I come into this training in the worst shape of my life. An bad injury sustained just before my TNT Marathon last June sidelined me from ALL activity. Walking was hard enough......I had the pleasure of tearing my hamstring right off!!!! What a pain in the a.....literally! I started back with activity in January but was sporadic until I found my workout buddy, CHRIS. Yeah for Chris!!!!! :) Now we are seeing the Y twice a day most days. With my inactivity I also gained some weight. Let's face it, spin class in not a place you want to be with ANY entra weight. The pro is that I will have great leg muscles from climbing with my extra weight for when I have less weight to haul around. It is my fantasy so let me have it, please. Here's to TNT for this wonderful opportunity to realize that the worst that my body may face is miniscue compared to what those with blood borne cancers face every day! |
